| Michael Christopher Downs aka “Soja Kal” born 24 August 1988 in Riverside, California. Charleston, South Carolina is where he first discovered his passion for writing and rapping rhymes. He participated in several events such as a Martin Luther King, Jr., talent competition during black history month in February 2002; perfecting his showmanship as an entertainer. Indianapolis, Indiana is where Soja Kal first recorded his music, while visiting relatives. Soja Kal moved to Greenville, S.C. in Apr 2002 where he continued perfecting his skills as a rapper. Greenville, S.C. is where he was first introduced to “Fridays Freestyle Battle” winning champion during one of the battles. He later started recording music with local artists and continuing to do shows whenever possible. To further his career in the entertainment arena, Soja Kal moved to metro Atlanta, Georgia in May 2008, where he resides today. Since his arrival, he has performed in several events such as The Sweet Auburn Spring Festival 2008; The Sweet Auburn Heritage Festival 2008; The Blaque Shadz Event at Club Atrium, Stone Mountain, GA., 2008; The Sweet Auburn Sweet Success 106 & Park, 2008; talent showcase for The Edge Organization in Griffin, GA; Open Mic at Club Buka in Stone Mountain, GA and a showcase at Club Southside 17 nightclub in Jonesboro, GA. Writing and recording his music is what Soja Kal continues to do, striving for the success that lies ahead. Soja Kal enjoys spending time with family and friends whenever time permits.
