| G $tak was born on July 1st, 1985 in Evanston, IL. Growning up in the chicago suburb he was influenced by the tongue twisting style of the midwest rappers. $tak started writing his lyrics at the young age of 11 when he and two of his childhood friends started their own rap group. The group was called the Deep Soulja Gang but is now known as Da Villain Camp Gangstas or D.V.C.G'z. When he first started writing he was coming up with simple yet creative punchlines. Now at the age of 21 with 10 years or experience his is known for his versitile flow and his sometimes mind boggling punchlines. As he grew older his love for music grew as well. $tak and the camp dropped 4 cd's while they were in high school together. Once out of high school $tak went to Florida A&M university where he met John Dough and Rob Rich and the three created the group the HoodAlumns. While forming the HoodAlumns group he coined the name G $tak. $tak loves being in the studio and recording music he is also a natural on stage and has tons of energy when performing. $tak's talent is unmatched by the new artist of today and he hopes to bring back the artist with lyrical content. Being in two groups he works well with other artist and is very professional when in the studio from his 9 years of recording experience. He is now venturing into his solo career and his creating a buzz with his new single "Lean". He has currently finished his long awaited solo mixtape "$tak's On Deck" in one week and plans to release it in early July. He is marketable and has the talent needed to make it in the industry. G $tak is a member of ASCAP as of 2006. $tak is currently Diamond of Crime Mob's first male artist on her independent label DPC. He will also be featured on Diamond's solo Mixtape due out summer '07. He has also made a name for himself in Germany, getting his songs "Let Me Hear Ya" and "Lean" played in various clubs and mixtape (DJ Bass & DJ Dolla Bill). |
